Auldrant is the name of the world in which Tales of the Abyss takes place. It is composed from an elements known as fonons, a basis for civilisation.

Fonons are basic particles of sound found in every element in Planet Auldrant, featured in Tales of the Abyss.
Ever since the beginning of existence, Fonons have existed within everything the eye can see, splitting into six different categories of Fonons, each representing an element.

First: Darkness
Second: Earth
Third: Wind
Fourth: Water
Fifth: Fire
Sixth: Light
Seventh: Sound/Life

At first, only six fonons existed in the world, but over time, they began to mutate in the Planet Storm which transformed them into Seventh Fonons.

Over the cores of two years, the once deadly battle over the Score is over. The outer lands, were all safely lowered to there original level that was once known as the ‘Quithoth’ over flowing with miasma, has become no more. Also the Planet storm, of Fonons passing around the planet has vanished, defeated at last. though this lowered the power of most Fonons a little bit, the Seventh were almost completely lost. Arts no longer hold as much power, but are still not to be reckoned with.

This was all thanks to ‘Luke Fon Fabre’ who sacrificed himself to end all of the madness of his former Teacher, ‘Vandestelca Musto Fende’ who wished to also override the score, but with deadly measures.

The ‘Order of Lorelei’ Disbanded, and hopes of spreading the teachings on of how to use what Fonons are left, peacefully, and properly to flourish life. The Kingdoms of Kimlasca-Lanvaldear and Maltuth are thriving, both rebuilding any damages. And rejoicing, though Kimlasca and everyone grieved that Luke and Asch was lost in the battle.

That was until only a few months ago, Luke reappeared, a Savior, Grown up a fine young man. Everyone goes about there normal lives…..but what if there was something waiting in the shadows that didn’t like the changes? was Van, and releasing Lorelei really…..the end?
