Thirteen members of the Sohma family are possessed by the animals of the Chinese zodiac and are cursed to turn into their animal forms if they are embraced by anyone of the opposite sex.
A few decades have long since passed since the original Sohmas have roamed around with the curse, but with years comes maturity and they all soon settled down with the ones they loved. A little of the secrets had been reveled during when a young woman had discovered the essence of the mysterious Sohma curse. During this the Sohma curse slowly began to fade away and soon broke. Of course though...not everything has a happy ending.
The freedom of the curse soon wore of as a new generation of Sohmas were born in Japan and the curse awoke in them. Not only that two new outsiders showed up in the line and no one is really sure why. A rumor has spread through the main house that is was from a taboo that was commited, but no one is for sure.
While the members who are cursed have to deal with something that hasnt been around for a long period of time the head of the Sohma house has been making things worse for them. Not only that there seems to be an unknown enemy to the Sohmas who wishes to break the curse forever by staining the walls with there blood.
